Welcome to Grade 4 English Language Arts. This guide provides structured, ready‑to‑teach lessons that support deeper comprehension, stronger writing, and advanced vocabulary skills.

Our Grade 4 English course is designed to help learners become confident readers, thoughtful writers, and strong communicators. At this level, students move beyond basic reading and writing skills into deeper comprehension, more advanced grammar, structured writing, vocabulary development, and literary analysis.

This course supports learners as they read longer passages, identify main ideas, summarize important information, compare texts, analyze characters, understand point of view, and explore nonfiction text features. Students also build writing skills by learning how to organize ideas into multi-paragraph compositions, write clear opinion pieces, use evidence to support their thinking, and improve creativity through figurative language and poetry.

Throughout the lessons, learners practise important Grade 4 English skills such as identifying supporting details, using transition words, writing introductions and conclusions, understanding compound and complex sentences, recognizing confusing word pairs, and explaining ideas with text evidence. Each lesson includes clear explanations, guided practice, examples, quizzes, worksheet-style activities, and home practice to reinforce learning.
