Martin Umeohia

Martin Umeohia is a biochemist, educator, and academic mentor passionate about inspiring young minds through excellent science education. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Applied Biochemistry from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry. He is the Acting Head of Department, Chemical Sciences, at Peter University Achina/Onneh, Nigeria, where he currently teaches Biochemistry and mentors undergraduate students in the biological and chemical sciences. He previously taught at Grundtvig International Secondary School, where he became known for his engaging and transformative teaching approach. Over the years, Martin has taught and inspired students who have gone on to study Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, Computer Science and other disciplines in universities across the United States, Canada, and Nigeria, while several of his former students are now practicing medical doctors and successful professionals in diverse fields. Through captivating classroom illumination, real-life scientific applications, and excellent pedagogy in Biology and Chemistry, he has developed a reputation for awakening passion for sciences—especially Medicine—among students.
